Pebbles of Thought

Collect your thoughts like pebbles in a jar. Look at them, admire them. Are they beautiful? Colourful? Rough or uneven? Thoughts are like that. Some have smooth edges, some jagged. But all have a reason, an origin.

The pebble maybe a notion to be explored. Smooth and flat, ideal for skipping on the water of life. Some maybe heavy, rough and crumble when they are touched because they are distracting you - created by the ego or self doubt to weigh you down.

Some may be out of keeping, bizarre or exotic looking stones - these are ideas or thoughts entering from others - their opinions, judgments, criticism. They are to be discarded. They maybe exotic but they do not have any value to you.

Then there are the gems - the pieces of sea-glass, glistening steel, the pieces of gem, semi precious stones in amongst the more ordinary. These are the inspiration, from your Soul or Spirit. Hold them, regard them, what are they telling you? What do they want you to think about?

The mind is a jar and the pebbles comes and go. Hold onto them for a while then let them go. Their importance, if there was any has already been left with you - deep in your Psyche.
